Biography

Jeff Kaplan is an American screenwriter who has been part of a long-standing writing partnership with Ian Springer. The duo met while studying at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and have been creative collaborators for over a decade. Known for their distinctive blend of wit, melancholy, and myth, Kaplan and Springer first gained attention in the indie film world with their 2013 comedy, Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship.

Their unique creative voice eventually brought them to the attention of Marvel Studios, where they were tasked with developing the story treatment for The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025). Both received a story and screenplay credit on the film.
